Full Circle Quartet – Band Bios

Josephine Davies, Soprano and Tenor Saxophones

Josephine studied at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has been a leading light in the UK jazz scene for many years.

She won the ‘jazz instrumentalist of the year’ category in the 2019 UK Parliamentary Jazz Awards and is known for her melodic focus, versatility and unique style, which has been described as “consistently inventive” (Jazzwise Magazine) and “with winning immediacy” (MOJO Magazine).

She is now becoming known as a composer, whose unique voice is a blend of classical, jazz and folk music, creating an intensely dynamic sound, infused with the Nordic quality of her Shetland roots.

Joss Peach, Piano and Percussion

Joss is a BAFTA Award winning television composer. He studied for a year at Leeds College of Music before embarking on a rich and varied professional career that has seen him performing across the UK, Europe and the USA both as a side- man and band-leader in everything from small groups to big band and his own original ensembles, including the original Full Circle Trio.

Whilst living in Spain in the 1990s, he won the Secadero prize for jazz piano.

Terry Pack, Double Bass

Session musician and composer with nearly 50 years of professional playing experience.

Terry has recorded and/or performed live with musicians from all over the world in every genre from folk to blues to jazz to classical to pop and rock

He is the driving force behind The South Downs Suite and the formation of the new quartet version of Full Circle after a break of several years since the original trio was disbanded in 2014.

Angus Bishop, Drums

Angus is a session musician and composer.

He is a graduate of the Trinity School of Music and Middlesex University. As well as being an in-demand player across the UK jazz and creative music scenes.

His compositional work with the band Outside Broadcast has brought the group high praise for its unique and evocative blend of folk and free jazz influences.
